If there was a perfect shade tree that could be created for all seasons, all environments, and all aspects of growing then the Bosque Elm® Tree is near the top of the list. Elm trees are tremendously popular trees that grow fast and offer many wishes on a check list. Bosque Elm® Tree, however was bread as a super Elm, that is the blue-collar tree for those reasons. This tree has a perfect form, oval shaped and very uniform in its growth pattern. Very heat resistant Bosque Elm® can tolerate the higher zones of the South and Western parts of the country. Like the River Birch, Bosque Elm® has interesting-exfoliating bark that reveals layers of unique colors up and down the tree. If there are plans for a hammock in the garden, two Bosque Elm® trees spaced appropriately apart would be our top choice! Small delicate leaves amongst the sturdy limbs will offer the most comfortable shady environment even on the hottest of days. As the cooler days start to creep in, Bosque Elm® will start the curtain call of performance. Leaves turn from green to a golden red before making their exit for the winter. All these put together makes Bosque Elm® a tree that must have a place in your landscape and heart.
Care
Plant Bosque Elm® in full sun with a well-balanced organic soil base. Late winter pruning is best, removing any crossed branching and low hanging limbs. Use our HICOTE 360-day slow-release fertilizer for best growing practices, usually apply after your zones last frost date.
Uses
Bosque Elm® is very versatile and will thrive just about anywhere planted. In an urban environment planted as a street tree, it will perform better than most.
