Why The Plant Factory, Inc is a good choice?

Our plants are grown at our nursery. Our experienced staff use the best horticultural practices to ensure our plants are of the utmost health and quality. We select your plants as if we were buying them ourselves. Our standard goals are to exceed our customers’ expectations. We pride ourselves for great “out of the box” experiences with hassle-free customer service and quick resolutions.

Compacta Holly is a staple evergreen foundation plant, along with its versatility as a border and hedge plant. A long-time companion plant for any home, compacta holly is appreciated for its versatile multi-purpose uses. Compacta’s growth pattern allows for many looks in the garden, whether traditionally used in a globe form for a formal impression or boxed or even pyramidal shape as a hedge or specimen addition. The small dark-green leaves make it most impressive.

Compacta holly at maturity can reach 5 feet tall with a spread of 5-6 feet (estimated time 8-10 years). Don’t let that hinder your interest in this plant, as it is easy to trim and maintain in a smaller application. New dark-green stems around 4-6” in length emerge in the middle to late spring. After they have hardened off, simply cut them to your desired dimensions.

Compacta Holly will do the best in full sun (6 + hours a day) or part shade (2-6 hours per day). It is not a fussy plant; it is occasionally visited by red spider mites, but they are easy to tend to. Whether you are in the country, rural, or city setting, this great shrub will do it all. We have sold in excess of 10,000 of these in the past 15 years from our nursery, and it is still going strong as a leader in landscape designers' most requested shrub.
