First Editions® Hydrangea 'Little Hottie ® | Hydrangea paniculata 'BAILPANONE' PP# 32,549

First Editions® hydrangea paniculata 'Little Hottie' ® is an exquisite and compact variety of the panicle hydrangea. With its vibrant blooms and manageable size, it is a perfect addition to any garden or landscape. 'Little Hottie' is known for its abundant and long-lasting flower clusters that transition from creamy white to deep pink as the season progresses. This showstopper typically reaches a height and width of 3 to 4 feet, making it ideal for small gardens, borders, or container gardening.

Hydrangea 'Little Hottie' ® Care Tips:

  1. Watering: Hydrangeas prefer moist, well-drained soil. Water your 'Little Hottie' ® regularly, especially during hot and dry periods. Ensure the soil is evenly moist but not waterlogged. Mulching around the base of the plant can help retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

  2. Fertilizer Needs: Feed your 'Little Hottie' ® hydrangea in early spring with a slow-release balanced fertilizer formulated for flowering shrubs. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for application rates. Avoid over-fertilizing, as it can lead to excessive leaf growth at the expense of flower production.

  3. Pruning Tips: Pruning hydrangeas is generally done in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. For 'Little Hottie' ®, prune back the previous year's growth to encourage strong branching and abundant blooms. Remove any dead or damaged branches as well. Remember that this cultivar blooms on new wood, so you won't be sacrificing next year's flowers.

Hardiness Zone Information: Hydrangea Paniculata 'Little Hottie' ® is hardy in USDA hardiness zones 3 to 9. It can tolerate a wide range of climates but performs best in regions with cool to moderate summers and cold winters. Make sure to check your specific hardiness zone before planting to ensure optimal growth and survival.
