Fatsia is a broadleaf plant with large, glossy green foliage and perfect texture for any shady location. Fatsia blooms in the fall, with golf ball sized blossoms that develop into black berries, adding to its desire. If you’re looking for a berry source for feathered friends, Fatsia is a good treat for them from late fall until the first frost.
Fatsia can have many uses, such as a specimen plant/small tree or mass planting in and under trees. Most notable landscape designers draw these shrubs in as borders or mass plantings to cover hard to grow areas. For these applications, we recommend plant spacing 3 to 4 feet apart for best results. Fatsia also makes an excellent container shrub for the deck or indoor sunrooms. Make sure you give the plant a large enough container to grow into a full formed specimen.
