Endless Summer®Blushing Bride Reblooming Hydrangea | Hydrangea macrophylla 'Blushing Bride' PP17,169
Planting Tips:
Location:
For optimal results with your Endless Summer® Blushing Bride Hydrangea, it is recommended to choose a spot that gets sunlight in the morning and shade in the afternoon. This hydrangea flourishes in soil that is well-drained and moist, with a generous amount of organic matter. For optimal planting, it is recommended to dig a hole that is twice as wide as the root ball and of equal depth. Position the plant in the hole, making sure the top of the root ball is even with the surrounding soil. Ensure that the soil is properly filled and give the plant a thorough watering to help it settle.
Watering:
It is important to water your Twist-n-Shout® Reblooming Hydrangea consistently, especially when there is a lack of rainfall. Ensure that the soil remains consistently moist without becoming overly saturated. It is highly advised to implement deep watering techniques in order to promote robust root growth. Select a soaker hose or drip irrigation system to reduce water contact with the leaves and avoid any potential fungal problems.
Let's talk about mulching:It is essential to maintain a consistent level of moisture for hydrangeas. Make sure to water your Blushing Bride hydrangea consistently, particularly when the weather is dry. Watering deeply once or twice a week is more effective than watering frequently and shallowly.
Mulching:
Applying mulch around the plant's base is beneficial for maintaining soil moisture and ensuring the roots stay cool. Apply a layer of organic mulch, like wood chips or pine needles, around the base of the plant. This will help provide the necessary nutrients and moisture for optimal growth. Benefits: Mulching is a great way to maintain soil moisture, prevent weed growth, and regulate the temperature of the soil. Make sure to keep the mulch away from the plant's base to prevent any potential rot.
Pruning:
Pruning requirements for the Endless Summer® Blushing Bride Hydrangea are kept to a minimum. Prune faded blooms to promote a constant display of blossoms. During the late winter or early spring, it is recommended to trim away any wood that is dead or damaged. We advisable to refrain from excessive pruning of this hydrangea, as it may result in a decrease in the number of blooms.
Fertilizing:
Consider using a well-balanced, slow-release fertilizer like what we use, SR-18-5-10 specifically designed for hydrangeas or other flowering shrubs. Apply fertilizer during the early spring when new growth emerges and once more during mid-summer to encourage ongoing blooming. Be cautious about using too much fertilizer, as it may cause an abundance of leaves but fewer flowers.
