Camelia sasanquas are the answer. Yuletide is one of the most used and requested Sasanqua at our nursery. It is a smart shrub for the landscape that has glossy, dark green foliage that last all year long. Bright red single flowers with beautiful yellow stamens bloom from late fall and early winter. What a way to brighten up the garden with this popular selection.
In the Southern regions, blooms can last through the winter and Northern regions blooms can last into early spring. A slow to moderate grower, Yuletide has so many applications in the garden. First, if used as a foundation plant, it can adorn the front entrance to any home or building. Yuletide is often used as a medium hedge or border. It also makes a perfect specimen focal point. With the growth habit, Yuletide can also be used as a smart container plant for the patio or deck for apartments or townhouses.
