SR-18-5-10 Slow Release Fertilizer
Leading fertilizer experts have formulated our SR-18-5-10 formula, which consists of 18% nitrogen, 5% phosphorus, 10% potassium, and a bundle of micronutrients, to provide your plants with the highest nutrition value over an extended period. If Hi-Cote is our go-to plant fertilizer for our growing facility, it will exceed your landscape's needs.

How long will it last?

Our SR-18-5-10 has a resin coating on all of the components, which enables it to last for months. Depending on your zone's day/night temperatures, SR-18-5-10 can last up to 10-12 months. In warmer climates, it usually lasts less than 10 months. The science behind this time-release fertilizer ensures it doesn't overfeed or underfeed, meaning it will reduce its release during the cooler months and increase it during the warmer months when your plant is actively seeking nutrition. Therefore, you can apply our fertilizer annually to ensure your plant or tree receives the necessary nutrients for long-term performance.
Our 16-ounce/453-gram bag will feed many shrubs or trees in the garden. The recommended rates will differ depending on the size of your plants and trees. Never spoon any fertilizer next to a plant's stem; the concentration of fertilizer may damage it. Always spread the fertilizer around the “dip line,” which means towards the edge of the plant’s stems, basically 4-6 inches away from the plant's stem. There are light- and heavy-feeding shrubs that require different amounts of fertilizer. Always research your plant or tree to identify its appetite. Our customer service experts can readily advise you on the approximate amount required. Just send us a message, and we will guide you accordingly.

Here are some suggested application guidelines:

QT 5” equivalent size shrub: 9-12 grams per plant/tree
1 gallon equivalent size shrub—38-40 grams per plant/tree
A 3-gallon equivalent-size shrub weighs between 124 and 130 grams per plant or tree.
A 5-gallon equivalent-size shrub weighs 130–140 grams per plant or tree.

Always keep plant fertilizers away from children and pets. If you have small children or pets, simply bury them under the soil or mulch. All plant food is harmful if ingested. Take all precautions to keep it out of the wrong hands.
