Rainbow Fizz™ Spirea | Spirea japonica 'Matgold' USPP28876, CPBR5634

We are excited to offer a new Plant Brand called “Bloomin’ Easy®” from Canada’s premier nursery.

Be the first to introduce this beautiful plant into your garden!

The Rainbow Fizz™ Spirea showcases a beautiful variety of foliage colors all year round. During the springtime season, the fresh growth appears with striking shades of green and yellow. During autumn, the foliage transforms into vibrant hues of red and orange, resulting in an amazing displays that adds beauty to any garden or landscape.

The Rainbow Fizz™ Spirea showcases clusters of lovely pink flowers that bloom during the transition from spring to summer. These lovely flowers create a stunning contrast with the autumn foliage, enhancing the visual appeal. This plant is a great addition to your garden ecosystem as it attracts pollinators, which is beneficial for your flowers.
This small, bushy shrub usually grows to a height of 3 to 4 feet and has a spread of 3 to 4 feet. Its compact size makes it ideal for borders, foundation plantings, or as a vibrant addition to mixed beds.

Planting Tips:

Location:

Select a suitable area that receives ample sunlight or partial shade. Rainbow Fizz™ Spirea flourishes in soil that is well-drained and benefits from good air circulation. The ideal soil type for this plant is loamy or sandy. Make sure the planting site has proper drainage to avoid any issues with root rot. We recommended to plant your spirea with a distance of 2-3 feet between each plant. This will ensure that the spirea has enough room to grow to its full width and will contribute to its overall well-being.

It is important to maintain regular watering, especially in periods of drought, in order to ensure that the soil remains consistently moist without becoming overly saturated. Once established, Rainbow Fizz™ Spirea can withstand periods of drought, although it thrives with regular watering, especially during long dry spells.

Adding a layer of organic mulch around the plant's base can help keep the soil moist, prevent weed growth, and maintain a stable soil temperature. It is important to maintain a distance of a few inches between the mulch and the stem in order to prevent any potential rot.

It is recommended to prune in late winter or early spring, just before new growth starts. Prune any lifeless or injured branches and carefully trim the Poprocks® Petite Spirea to preserve its neat appearance. Pruning the plants once the blooms have faded can help promote healthier and more robust growth.

Ensure optimal growth for your Rainbow Fizz™ Spirea by providing it with a well-balanced, slow-release fertilizer like our SR-18-5-10 slow release fertilizer during the early spring when new growth emerges. Please make sure to carefully follow the instructions provided regarding the application rates. Be cautious about using too much fertilizer, as it may cause an imbalance between leaf growth and blooming.

Purchase our Slow Release fertilizer here SR-18-5-10.
