Princess Holly Ann™ Crape Myrtle | Lagerstroemia x ‘GA0701’ PPAF6

We are excited to offer a new Plant Brand called “Bloomin’ Easy®” from Canada’s premier nursery.

Be the first to introduce this beautiful plant into your garden!

Princess Holly Ann™ Crape Myrtle showcases its coppery red foliage in early spring, deep green foliage through the summer, and finishes the year out with attractive purplish red leaves creating an attractive backdrop that lasts all through the growing season. A true dwarf mounding Crape Myrtle, Holly Ann is most desirable for small areas that require attention. Perfect for container gardening too, Princess Holly Ann™ Crape Myrtle will fit into any gardening need, wheather inground or patio or poolside deck.

This variety is well-known for its breathtaking showcase of vibrant shades of cherry red blooms. The flowers are large, showy, and cover the plant in a profusion of color from mid-summer to fall, making it a standout in any garden.

Princess Holly Ann™ has a mature height of 4 to 5 feet and a width of 3 to 4 feet. Its compact size is perfect for smaller gardens or as a standout feature in larger landscapes.

Due to Princess Holly Ann™ Crape Myrtle's distinctive parentage, it exhibits enhanced disease resistance and cold tolerance compared to regular Lagerstroemia indica varieties, regardless of their size.

Planting Tips for Princess Holly Ann™ Crape Myrtle:

Princess Holly Ann™ Crape Myrtle should be planted in well-drained soil in a spot that receives full sun to partial shade for best results. It is best to plant in the early spring or fall to give the roots time to establish before summer or winter's extremes.

Watering:

To develop a deep, broad root system during the first growing season, regular watering is essential. After it's established, it can withstand some drought, but long dry spells are best when watered.

Mulching:

To control soil temperature, keep soil moisture in the soil, and inhibit weed growth, mulch the area surrounding the base of the Princess Holly Ann™ Crape Myrtle with a layer of two to three inches.

Pruning:

Before new growth appears, prune in late winter or early spring. Make sure to trim off any unhealthy or dead wood from the plant and shape it to allow for proper airflow and growth.

Fertilizing:

To encourage rapid growth and blooming, treat your Princess Holly Ann™ Crape Myrtle with a balanced, SR-18-5-10 slow-release fertilizer in the early spring.

Purchase our Slow Release fertilizer here SR-18-5-10.
