Poprocks® Petite Spirea | Spirea japonica 'Odessa' USPP28508, CPBRAF

We are excited to offer a new Plant Brand called “Bloomin’ Easy®” from Canada’s premier nursery.

Be the first to introduce this beautiful plant into your garden!

The Poprocks® Petite Spirea is a beautiful ornamental shrub that adds a burst of color and texture to any garden. This stunning plant showcases a captivating leaf color that changes gracefully as the seasons unfold. During the spring and summer months, the foliage takes on a vibrant, verdant hue, enhancing the overall appearance of your landscape with its lush and rejuvenating presence. With the arrival of fall, the leaves go through a stunning transformation, painting the landscape in vibrant hues of fiery red and orange.

The Poprocks® Petite Spirea is known for its stunning foliage and an abundance of charming gumball shaped blooms. During the spring and summer months, you'll be treated to the sight of beautiful clusters of delicate, soft pink flowers that provide a striking contrast to the vibrant green and red foliage. The flowers are not just visually stunning, but also have the ability to attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, providing vitality into your garden.

The Poprocks® Petite Spirea has a compact growth habit, with a height of 18-24 inches and a width of 24-30 inches. Its compact size makes it perfect for smaller gardens, borders, or planting in containers.

Poprocks® Petite Spirea Planting Tips:

Location: Select a suitable area that receives ample sunlight or partial shade. Poprocks® Petite Spirea flourishes in soil that is well-drained and benefits from good air circulation. The ideal soil type for this plant is loamy or sandy. Make sure the planting site has proper drainage to avoid any issues with root rot. We recommended to plant your spirea with a distance of 2-3 feet between each plant. This will ensure that the spirea has enough room to grow to its full width and will contribute to its overall well-being.

It is important to maintain regular watering, especially in periods of drought, in order to ensure that the soil remains consistently moist without becoming overly saturated. Once established, Poprocks® Petite Spirea can withstand periods of drought, although it thrives with regular watering, especially during long dry spells.

Adding a layer of organic mulch around the plant's base can help keep the soil moist, prevent weed growth, and maintain a stable soil temperature. It is important to maintain a distance of a few inches between the mulch and the stem in order to prevent any potential rot.

It is recommended to prune in late winter or early spring, just before new growth starts. Prune any lifeless or injured branches and carefully trim the Poprocks® Petite Spirea to preserve its neat appearance. Pruning the plants once the blooms have faded can help promote healthier and more robust growth.

Ensure optimal growth for your Poprocks® Petite Spirea by providing it with a well-balanced, slow-release fertilizer like our SR -18-5-10 slow release fertilizer during the early spring when new growth emerges. Please make sure to carefully follow the instructions provided regarding the application rates. Be cautious about using too much fertilizer, as it may cause an imbalance between leaf growth and blooming.

Purchase our Slow Release fertilizer here SR-18-5-10.
