Get Rid of Bugs!
Bugs like fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and flies avoid lavender plants, so you can put them anywhere you want to keep them at bay. Put them in pots and scatter them around your home or patio to ward off pesky insects with their pleasant aroma!

General Care:

Planting

Choose a location with well-draining soil and full sunlight for optimal growth. Ensure adequate spacing between plants to allow for proper air circulation. Plant in spring after the danger of frost has passed, digging a hole slightly larger than the root ball and backfilling with soil, gently firming it around the base of the plant.

Watering

While Lavandula x intermedia 'Phenomenal' is drought-tolerant once established, regular watering is essential during the first growing season to promote root development. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing the soil to dry out between watering sessions to prevent root rot.

Mulching

Apply a layer of organic mulch, such as shredded bark or straw, around the base of the plant to conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature. Avoid piling mulch against the stems to prevent rotting.

Pruning

Prune lavender 'Phenomenal' in early spring to remove dead or damaged growth and shape the plant. Additionally, trim spent flower spikes to encourage continuous blooming and maintain a tidy appearance. Avoid cutting into old wood, as this may hinder future growth.

Fertilizing

Lavandula x intermedia 'Phenomenal' thrives in lean soil and typically does not require regular fertilization. However, if the soil is poor or growth appears stunted, apply a balanced fertilizer sparingly in early spring, following the manufacturer's instructions.
